Conrad Burdekin, local author, poet and storyteller, will be visiting our school again on Thursday 2nd October 2014, to help us celebrate National Poetry Day. He will be working with different classes throughout the day, helping inspire them to write their own poems. He last visited our school in the Autumn term last year, and both Conrad and his poems proved to be a big hit with our children. Many of you purchased his first poetry book, ‘The Hungrumptious Blumpfh and other poems’ (the bright yellow book with the green monster on the front!) as well as ‘Teachers pick their noses and other poems’ (the bright green book). Last year, Conrad released his third collection of children’s poetry called ‘The Baked Bean Queen’ and has 57 poems for children in it – a real variety.
If you would like to have a sneak preview of Conrad’s poems please visit his website at www.conradburdekin.com where you can do so.
We are sure that the children will have an inspiring and fun-filled day on Thursday.
